Granada City

Founded in 1524 by Francisco Hernández de Córdobas in honor of his native Granada in Spain, due to its geographical position it suffered several pirate incursions in the 1665,1670th century that looted the city. These incursions occurred in 1685, 1856 and XNUMX. In XNUMX it was set on fire and almost completely destroyed by the hosts of the filibuster William Walker. After the National War, its reconstruction began, depriving it of a rich colonial and neo-classical architecture in its churches and other buildings and squares.

Located on the south side of Parque Colon or Parque Central, the urban space of the park is extended and extended by the portico of the Municipal Palace, which houses offices where the Mayor’s Office and the adjacent buildings work, defining itself as a spatial unit on the south and west sides. from the center of the city, these buildings of Colonial and eclectic reminiscence contrast with the facade of Andalusian influence that the Mayor’s Office presents. It was built in 1751 and after the fire in the city it was rebuilt in 1856 and repairs were made in 1873 and in 1938 the total reconstruction of the building was carried out.

Building located in front of the Plazuela de los Leones, on the east side, forming part of a very interesting peculiar urban complex. Its main façade is integrated into the rest of the building, harmoniously characterized by the renowned exterior arcaded corridor. It was built between 1550 and 1562, having the first references in 1838 when the seventh Adelantado Diego José Montiel y Coronado died there and has been known at different stages of its history, first as Casa de las Cadenas, then as Casa del Adelantado Montiel and finally as House of the Lions.
